Xiaomi Mi A2 and Mi A2 Lite Confirmed Release Date on 24th July

The Chinese manufacturer, Xiaomi, has officially confirmed today that the much-awaited successor of the Mi A1, which are Mi A2 will be launching at the global launch event on 24th July. Interestingly, according to Xiaomi, there will be two Mi A2 devices released in this event.

Earlier today, Xiaomi had already tweeted that ‘2 is better than 1’ with a silhouette of the rear panel of the phone, featuring a vertical dual-camera setup. It’s similar to the rumors saying that there would be two Mi A2 variants revealed at the launch event. The teaser has come just a few days after the announcement of the event. We are still a good week away from this launch event so let’s recap what we know about the Mi A2 and Mi A2 Lite, which will again be a part of Google’s Android One Program. It means both the devices will run Android 8.1 Oreo out-of-the-box, with Android P update coming along very soon.

Mi A2 and Mi A2 Lite Specs

Mi A2 is rumored to sport a 5.99-inch FullHD+ IPS display, coming with the new 18:9 aspect ratio. Similar to the recently-launched Mi 6X, the phone is expected to have the same specs as it will be powered by the Snapdragon 660 SoC along with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of expandable storage. In terms of camera, there will be a pair of 12MP + 20MP sensor on the back, along with a front-facing 20MP snapper to take your beautiful selfie and make video calls. The phone is powered by a decent 3,010mAh battery capacity, along with a USB Type-C port and Qualcomm Quick charge 3.0 technology.

On the other hand, the Mi A2 Lite will feature a smaller display, bit larger battery, and a cheaper price. The phone is expected to flaunt a 5.84-inch fullHD+ display with a unique 19:9 aspect ratio (including a notch). Powering the phone will be the efficientSnapdragon 625 SoC, along with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of expandable storage.

In the camera department, the phone features a dual 12 MP + 5 MP camera setup on the rear, with a f/2.2 aperture on both lenses, while on the front, there will also be a selfie 5MP camera with a f/2.0 lens. It will be powered by a huge 4,000mAh battery capacity, which is very impressive.

Price & Availability

Although all sounds plausible, the specs are not ensured until the official releases from Xiaomi. For the pricing, the previous leaks suggested that Mi A2 Lite would go on sale at $190 (which is around Rs 12,999), while the Mi A2 will be priced at $289.99 (around Rs 19,999).
