Steps to create live folders and hide the Start menu app list in Windows 10 Creators Update

60The Windows 10 Creators Update is finally here following months of beta testing. With the Creators Update, the Start menu has received a few new customization options. This means that you can create and resize live folders to store more apps on Windows 10.

If you are new to Windows 10 Creators Update, the process of creating live folders may be a little bit confusing. With that in mind, we believe that we can help you out.

In this step-by-step guide, we will run you through the steps to create live folders and hide the Start menu app list. Before we begin, make sure that your computer is running the Windows 10 Creators Update.

  1. Steps to create and customize a live folder in the Start menu in the Windows 10 Creators Update

The Windows 10 Creators Update include a handy feature that allows you to group apps together into a live folder.

Step one: First off, you need to click the Start button. After that, you simply need to click and drag a tile onto another tile. Once you done, the live folder will show up in the Start menu

Step two: Next up, you now need to click the up-arrow tile to close the live folder

  • If you want to resize the live folder so you can see all tiles from within the folder, follow the steps below

Step one: First off, you need to click the Start button and then right-click the live folder

Step two: Once you are done, click Resize and select a size. If you want to remove an app from a live folder, you simply need to click and drag a tile outside the live folder

Step one: You first need to perform a right-click on the Start button. After that, you need to click Settings and then click Personalization to proceed

Step two: Next up, you need to click Start, then navigate to the Show app list in Start menu section and click the switch.
