Jolla Tablet with Sailfish OS is now available for pre-order

Jolla has just announced that its first tablet, powered by Sailfish OS, is now available for pre-order. The device made its debut on Indiegogo nine months ago and now, for the first time, is available for everyone in EU, Norway, Switzerland, United States, Canada, Australia, India and Hong Kong. The prices start at just €267 which is about £193.

The Jolla Tablet is powered by a quad-core 1.8 GHz Intel processor with 2GB of RAM, and either 32GB or 64GB of internal storage. The device also features a 5-megapixel rear camera, a 2-megapixel camera on its front, and a 7.85-inch display with 2048×1536 resolution.

Built by Finnish startup Jolla, the tablet is running an ‘all-new’ Sailfish OS which as the company claims is  “unlike anything you’ve tried before”. Despite that, the tablet can run Android apps alongside native apps from the Jolla Store. The software is based on MeeGo, a platform used by Nokia on its N9 smartphone.

Jolla Tablet first appeared on Indiegogo where the company raised $1.2 million in just two days. The company then launched an improved tablet with more storage and improved battery.

Today, the table is available for pre-order in 32GB and 64GB, priced at €267 (about £193) and €299 (about £215) respectively.
