iFixit Posts Apple Watch Repair Manuals for Battery, Screen and More

iFixit has just released repair manuals for the Apple Watch. The manuals released cover most of the Apple Watch components including the battery, screen, adhesive, and NFC antenna. The guides are very easy to follow and provide step-by-step instructions on how to replace the Apple Watch’s battery and display, alongside some extra steps for replacing the adhesive that can be damaged as a result of opening the Watch’s casing.

Cracked the glass on your Apple Watch? Time to get that fixed up. You can easily follow iFixit guide to replace the screen—which includes the OLED display and fused glass digitizer (touchscreen).

Unfortunately, opening up your Apple Watch may damage the NFC antenna, which also serves as a gasketing seal. The antenna is made up of two layers, glued together. These layers may separate when you open your watch, compromising its seal after reassembly. If this happens, you’ll need to repair or replace your antenna before reassembling your watch. iFixit provide you with a detailed step by step procedure to get that fixed.

While many of the tools used in the repair guides are available for purchase, iFixit has not yet stocked the necessary replacement parts that are assential for these repairs. Apple Watch has only been available for one week, it could be tricky for the to find all the essential part and this will take some time before the website makes replacement batteries, screens, adhesive and NFC antennas available through their online store.
