How to send and request money with Google Pay

If you are using an Android phone, Google Pay is the great app for all payments on the smartphone. With Google Pay, you can pay for things at stores that accept NFC connection, store your passes and tickets, house your gift cards, and even send money to people you want.

Although there are currently a number of apps allowing you to send and receive money directly from your contacts, this feature is also integrated into the Google Pay app. With everything else, you need to create a really great all-in-one solution.

How to send/request money in Google Pay app

If you want to send money to your friend for groceries, you can request cash from your friend for dinner, or whatever else. Sending money using Google Pay app is very simple. To do so

  1. Launch the Google Pay
  2. Tap on Send on the bottom of the navigation bar.
  3. Tap on the blue Send or request
  4. Search for the contact that you’re looking for.
  5. Type in the amount of money you want to send or request.
  6. Select Add Note to leave an optional message about the money
  7. Once you complete, tap on Requestor Send at the bottom to get it done.

How to send/request money using Google Pay in Android Messages

Sending or requesting money in the Google Pay app is quite simple, but there are a few tricks up its sleeves to make the process simpler.

If you’re sending text messages to someone and you remember to get some money sent the way, you don’t need to leave the conversation, and then open Google Pay, send the money, and tell your friend when you’ve sent it. Instead, you can do all of the tasks directly within your conversation. To do so:

  1. Launch Android Messages app and tap on the conversation that you want.
  2. Tap on the circular +icon next to the bottom left corner
  3. Scroll down till you see the Google Pay
  4. Tap on Sendor Receive depending on what you want.
  5. Type in your desired amount.
  6. Tap on Attach MoneyAttach Request option

How to send/request money with Google Pay via Google Assistant

You can also send/request money with Google Pay without the need for opening any apps, thanks to the help of Google Assistant. It is used for both actions for this demonstration.  To do so:

  1. Say, “Hey Google, send/request $20 from …”
  2. Confirm that you have selected the right contact, or email address, etc.
  3. Say the amount of the money.
  4. Tap on Yes or say “Yes” to confirm the transaction.
