How to import photos from your digital camera to a folder in macOS High Sierra

macOS High Sierra is not a significant update over its previous version, but there are a lot of exciting things that encourage Mac owners to upgrade. One such thing lies in the ability to import photos from your digital camera to a desired folder on your Mac. This is a great addition to macOS, as it eliminates the need to browse through your photos to locate your recently added photos and then put them a folder on your machine. However, the process may be a little bit confusing to some Mac owners. With that in mind, we are here to help.

In this tutorial, we are going to go through the steps to import photos from your digital camera to a folder on Mac. Before we begin, make sure you are now running macOS High Sierra.

How to import photos from your digital camera to a folder in macOS High Sierra

Step one: First off, you need to connect your digital camera to Mac (make sure you have already turned on your camera. If your camera is now in sleep mode, disable it) and then launch the Photos app in macOS High Sierra

Step two: Next up, select your digital camera when it shows up under Devices section and then select photos or videos you want to import to a folder on your Mac

Step three: Once you are done, hit Library located at the top of the Photos app. After that, select the folder you wish to move your photos to (You can easily create a new photo album to import your photos. To do this, hit Create New Album, select Enter and then hit OK). Once you do that, wait until the process is complete (this may take a while depending how much data you are importing to your folder).

Once done, open your desired folder or newly created folder and you should see all of your photos.
