Otherwise, you may find it a little annoying. Fortunately, Windows 10 allows you to disable the Game bar and some of its features.

In this step-by-step guide, we will walk you through the steps to disable and remove the Xbox Game bar. Before we begin, make sure that your computer is now running the Windows 10 Creators Update.

Basically, Game DVR allows you to record your videos. The best part is that you can record video in the background while you are playing your games. However, keep in mind that Game DVR could use a large amount of system resources on your machine. Therefore, if you never game, it’s a good idea to disable game DVR to speed up the performance. Here is how.

Step one: First off, you need to right-click the Start button and then click Settings

Step two: Next up, click Gaming and then select Game DVR to proceed

Step three: Once you are done, you will notice that the switch under Record in the background while I’m playing a game is now turned on. All you need to do is to click the switch to disable it.

Step one: Right-click the Start menu and then click Search to proceed

Step two: Once you are done, type regedit into the Search field and press Enter

Step three: When you are in, you need to double click HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE on the left and then double-click System to expand

Step four: Next up, select CurrentControlSet from the drop-down menu and double-click Service

Step five: Scroll down a little bit and select xbgm. After that, right-click Start REG_DWORD on the right and hit Modify to proceed

Step six: Type 4 and hit OK button to complete the task.
