Steps to add a “Slide to shut down” option on your Windows 10

Step one: First and foremost, you need to right-click on the space on your desktop, select New and click on Shortcut from the drop-down menu

Step two: Once you are done, all you need to do is to copy and paste the following path %windir%\System32\SlideToShutDown.exe

Step three: Check the path carefully to make sure that you enter it correctly. Once you are done, you simply need to click Next to proceed

Step four: You are now supposed to enter a name for the shortcut you have just created and hit the Finish button to complete the task

Step five: Once you are done, right-click your newly created shortcut and select Properties. Once you are in, all you need to do is to click the Shortcut tab and click the Change Icon button

Step six: You are now supposed to confirm the path you choose doesn’t contain icons. To do this, click OK. Once done, you need to select the icon for the shutdown button

Step seven: Click OK and then click Apply

Step eight: Click OK to complete the task

Once you are done, the icon you chose earlier will appear on your desktop in Windows 10. Every time you double click on it will launch the “Slide down to shut down your PC” screen.
