Google Assistant finally here for iOS! Here is how to use it on your iPhone and iPad

313At this year’s I/O developer conference, Google Assistant gets tons of new features ranging from the ability to type with Assistant to perform a task to the ability to translate words and sentences.

However, Google really made waves by announcing that the Assistant is coming to iOS as a standalone app. With Google Assistant now official on the App Store, iPhone owners can send emails, text messages, make a reservation and much more using their voice or typing.

In this step-by-step guide, we will walk you through the steps to set up and use Google Assistant on your iPhone and iPad. Before we begin, make sure that you are running iOS 9.1 or newer and you have already downloaded the app to your iPhone or iPad.

Steps to set up Google Assistant on your iPhone and iPad

Step one: First off, you need to launch the app from your home screen and then sign in with your Google account

Step two: Once you are done, select Yes I’M IN to give Assistant permission to access settings on your phone

Step three: On the next screen, you can disable the switch if you don’t want to get updates, apps and offers for the Assistant. Otherwise, make sure that you keep the switch enabled. Once you are done, hit the Next button

Step four: Once you are in, tap on the microphone button in the center in the bottom of the app. After that hit the OK button.

Once you have successfully set up Google Assistant on your iPhone or iPad, here is how you can use it

Step one: Launch the app from your home screen and hit the microphone button

Step two: Once you are done, say something. For example, ask the Assistant “what are the scores for the NFL games today?”
