How to enable two-factor authentication on Fortnite account

If you play Fortnite, you will know that Vbucks, the Fortnite in-game currency, is the only way to purchase the items, including outfits, gliders, and the others. However, Vbucks cost real money and what you earn while playing the game doesn’t go that far.

Epic has already confirmed that there were no free Vbucks. So, if you see any websites, like multiple “free-Vbucks, click here”, offering free Vbucks, they are just scams.

The first thing you need to do to protect yourself is not to click on any of these links. The next thing you should do is to add two-factor authentication, 2FA for better protection. If you have any payment information saved in your Epic account, you should only enter it every time. The more protection you apply, the fewer thieves scoundrel any breadcrumbs.

How to add 2FA to your Fortnite account

To add some extra security to your Fortnite account, you can use 2FA:

  1. First, visit epicgames.com and sign into your account.
  2. Launch account settings by hovering over your username at the top right.
  3. Click on password and security.
  4. Select the enable two-factor sign in button at the bottom.

From now, when you sign into a new device with your Epic Games account, there will be an email with a unique code sent to you, which you need to enter before you are granted the access. Even when you’re in the account settings, but you should also make sure to set a unique, difficult-to-guess password. A password manager is also a great way to generate these.
