Check out how you can disable voice message recording in WhatsApp for iPhone

51WhatsApp ranks among the best messaging services out there. Earlier this year, Facebook-owned service hit one billion users, making it one of the world’s most-used communication platforms. WhatsApp’s great success comes from the abundant features that it provides such as images, GIDs, videos, documents and much more.

One of fan-favorite WhatsApp features lies in its ability to record and send messages within a conversation. This comes in handy especially when your hands are now out of reach. However, there are times when it becomes a cause of annoyance, as you accidentally tap on the record button.

While you cannot remove the record button from your conversation in WhatsApp, you can turn off the permission for microphone access so voice message recording won’t work.

In this step-by-step guide, we will walk you through the steps to turn off voice message recording in WhatsApp for iPhone.

Steps to disable voice message recording in WhatsApp for iPhone

Step one: First off, you need to launch the Settings app from your home screen. After that, scroll down to the bottom of the page and tap Privacy

Step two: Next up, tap on Microphone and move to the next step

Step three: Once you are in, you will see a list of all apps that have requested access to the microphone on your iPhone. You simply need to locate WhatsApp and turn off the switch to the right of the app.

Once you are done, when you hit the record button next to the input field, the record feature will no longer work. A pop-up will appear asking you to activate microphone access the next time you press the record button. If you change your mind, you can easily enable the feature by repeating the above process and toggle on the switch.

Note that if you are one of those who frequently make voice calls in WhatsApp, we recommend you re-activate microphone access for the app.
