AT&T rolls out Android 7.0 Nougat update for Samsung Galaxy S7 Active

95Android 7 Nougat is on its way to hit more Android-based smartphones this year. It’s been five months since Android 7.0 Nougat was officially released. Basically, Google’s new Android operating system comes with new changes and improvements over its predecessors, promising to offer one of the best Android experience.

Android 7.0 Nougat is now available in a limited number of devices. Today, AT&T has started rolling out the Nougat update to the Samsung Galaxy S7 Active. For some background, Samsung Galaxy S7 Active is a rugged version of the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge. The device has better protection and features a larger battery life when compared to its brothers. The device’s rubberized body allows it to survive falls of up to five feet. Besides, it also comes with IP68 for water resistance. In reality, Samsung has been rolling out Android 7.0 Nougat updates to its devices since January 2017 including its top-tier smartphones like Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge.

AT&T today updated its support page of the Galaxy S7 Active and announced that the Nougat update will be rolling out to users in the US starting March 7. The update weighs in at 1.58GB and it will come with build number NRD90M.G891AUCU2BQB, so if you now own a Samsung Galaxy S7 Active, you can check the firmware update from the Settings app.

The new Nougat update brings in some new features and changes like Samsung Cloud, Samsung Pass, App Select apps and February 2017 Android security patches. Besides, the Nougat update will also remove the AT&T Address Book from your phone.

Note that the update has just started to roll out, so it may not be available on all AT&T’s Samsung Galaxy S7 Active smartphones, so if you don’t find the update available when you check out the Settings app, don’t worry because it is coming to your device.
